Acupuncture is intended as a complement to your prenatal medical care, not a replacement. We recommend letting your OB or midwife know that you are receiving acupuncture — both so they have a complete picture of your care, and so any relevant concerns can be coordinated. Most OBs and midwives are familiar with prenatal acupuncture and have no concerns about patients pursuing it alongside standard care.
