FAQ

What is community acupuncture?

Acupuncture in New York City typically involves one patient in a private room. At a community acupuncture clinic, treatments occur in a larger group setting with multiple patients treated simultaneously. Patients are generally treated either in a recliner, on a massage table, or at some clinics on a mat on the floor. Consultations with your practitioner are quick and focused. Patients do not disrobe for treatment but instead roll up their pants and shirtsleeves to their knees and elbows. Some of the benefits of Community Acupuncture include more affordable pricing and greater scheduling flexibility, so it is easier to get the appointment you want.

At Olo Acupuncture, we have private and community room acupuncture available. The community room has four massage tables and two super comfortable recliners. While community acupuncture is ultimately not for everyone, the group healing environment is truly special, and we encourage all to give it a try.
