Acupuncture is generally well-tolerated for people who have had spinal surgery. Your acupuncturist will ask about the surgery, any hardware that was placed, and how your recovery has gone — needling is avoided directly at surgical sites. If you've had a recent procedure, it's worth checking with your surgeon first; most will have no objection to acupuncture once you've cleared the initial recovery window.
