Some research suggests acupuncture may help reduce dyspareunia — pain during or after sex — in people with endometriosis. A 2024 study published in Frontiers in Pain Research on deep infiltrating endometriosis found that dyspareunia intensity decreased steadily over the course of treatment, and that functional disability related to it dropped significantly. Results were gradual, with most improvement appearing around the second and third month of consistent treatment.
