Erika Prinz Freed, MS/Ac, L.AcLicensed Acupuncturist
Erika Prinz Freed is a former ballet dancer with a lifelong passion for health, active living and the human body. First introduced to acupuncture after sustaining dance injuries, it was through her eye-opening experiences as a patient that she decided to study eastern medicine and dedicate herself to making a positive impact on peoples’ lives as a practitioner. By embracing a hands-on, compassionate approach to healing, Erika addresses the root of an injury or illness, helping her patients’ achieve health and wellness for the long-term.
Erika holds a Masters of Science in Acupuncture (MS/Ac) from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City. Her training consists of three styles of acupuncture, including myofascial trigger point dry needling techniques, which is particularly effective for treating acute and chronic pain. She also completed training in China at the Beijing Traditional College of Acupuncture, a World Health Organization (WHO) affiliate, earning advanced certification in acupuncture and moxibustion. Erika is also one of the few acupuncturists in the United States certified in Constitutional Facial Renewal™ and Advanced Constitutional Facial Acupuncture.
Erika appreciates the breadth and scope of this age-old medicine. She continuously engages in training and scholarship, to deepen her understanding and better serve her patient. She is particularly interested in emotional issues, musculo-skeletal pain and women’s health. “Now more than ever, people are seeking affordable, effective healthcare, and a way to feel calm and centered, despite their busy, often stressful, lifestyle. Community acupuncture is such a powerful way to give people easy and frequent access to quality care while helping them restore balance in body, mind and spirit. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to share the benefits of acupuncture with as many people as possible, in such a wonderful, caring clinic like Olo.
Outside of acupuncture, Erika interests include just about every athletic adventure, like skiing, cross-training and dance, as well as developing her yoga practice, enjoying the outdoors, meditation, and travel. What makes her the happiest, is to spend time with friends and family, and follow her passion to help others live active, fulfilled lives.
